How I Work

When you come to see me for the first time, I will begin by asking you about your past, present, and future. This is usually an in-depth conversation between you and me, and might also include drawing, moving, or guided imagery.

The focus is usually on ‘finding your true voice,'  and the session may include breathing warm-ups and a introduction to voice work and movement. Comfortable clothing is recommended.

Based on our conversation, you and I will decide on an approach. By that I mean, we will talk about the different therapies I use and what would be of greatest benefit for you. Everyone’s pace and style is different. Some people choose to begin with dreams or a current pressing issue in a more traditional manner (talk therapy). Movement and voice work may follow later.

With my guidance and in our collaboration, your story is told, energies of the unconscious are respected as they slowly reveal themselves and offer you the opportunity to reclaim your power and natural creative expression. As your process unfolds trust deepens, self-confidence grows, and you begin to understand, from an adult perspective, the common phrase we usually attribute to the small child:

The world is your oyster!

Now, with greater discernment, a much longer attention span (hurrah!), and the vast wealth reaped from years of life experience, you truly have within your domain a splendid capacity to harvest and direct an abundance of creative energy!

My work is guided by the following 4 key principles:

  1. Each one of us has the capacity to live more fully.

  2. Each one of us is innately creative . . . has truly amazing gifts . . . as you realize and express your gifts you will become healthier, happier, and more connected to your whole life.

  3. The Unconscious is far more powerful and influential in directing and determining our lives than we have been taught (in the mainstream.)

  4. The Imagination is key to opening our lives and bridging us to the depth and vast sea of possibilities awaiting us. (3 & 4 are tenets of Jungian Psychology)

Who I Serve

If you answer 'yes' to some of the following, you might be an excellent match for the Vessel of Voices approach to healing:

  • You are motivated to feel better and live your life more fully.

  • You desire to actively pursue what you imagine to be possible. For some that might mean writing and publishing or painting for the first time; or it may mean more joy and inner peace, a soul mate, or perhaps a voice to speak your truth or to sing from your heart.

  • You have experienced a past and/ or current loss, disappointment, or trauma that is preventing you from enjoying life, performing your best or following your previously clear sense of direction.

  • You are experiencing a blockage or pain, but are uncertain of its source. You are looking for a way to move past ‘stuckness,' apathy, and / or depression.

  • You want a non-traditional approach to healing. You may have gone as far as you can in a traditional therapeutic setting or dislike talk therapy. Or you may simply be ready for the next step of growth - spiritual unfoldment, reclaiming and amplifying you own unique creative expression, and finding your voice.

I work with people from various walks of life and many ages. Please keep in mind that most every life, regardless of previous success, goes through times of depression, anxiety, loneliness, boredom, or blocked energy.

If you say to yourself, ‘Is this all there is?’ or ‘I know my life could be so much fuller," and you are motivated to change, please contact me at 510-495-5643 in California or
763-391-2764 in Minnesota. I'll be happy to talk to you.

Or go to the Therapies page to learn more about the healing techniques I use.
